One Day Online Webinar on 'MENSTRUAL HYGIENE AND MANAGEMENT'

On occasion of World Menstrual Day, online webinar was organized by the Department of Zoology and Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Dr. Patangrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Sangli on Wednesday 2^nd June 2021.

Chief guest of this webinar was Professor Dr. Priya Santosh Patil, Department of Anatomy, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s (Deemed to be University) Medical College and Hospital, Sangli. President of this webinar was Prin. Dr. D. G. Kanase, M. C. Member Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

Topic of the webinar was Menstrual Hygiene and Management. In the beginning, introduction of webinar was given by Convener of the webinar Dr. Prabha Patil, Head, Department of Zoology. Dr. Prabha Patil introduced the chief speaker, Professor Dr. Priya Patil. Dr. Priya Patil has covered all aspects of menstrual cycle hygiene and management. She has explained, how menstrual hygiene management is important. Hygiene related practice of women during menstruation are of considerable important as it may increase reproductive tract infections. She has mentioned about 4 A Method, which includes Accept, Awareness, Adapt and Attitude. All students, faculty members were inspired with her soft-spoken skill and informative scientific talk.

President of this webinar, Prin. Dr. D. G. Kanase, delivered presidential address. He has mentioned about women and girls from rural areas have low awareness on hygiene practices and lack culturally appropriate material for menstrual hygiene management (MHM) Practices. 

Finally, vote of thanks was proposed by Co-ordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell Dr. Amit Supale. For this webinar, more than 300 views were reported through YouTube channel.
