Guest Lecture by Prof. Rajmal Jain Kothari on 'Cosmic and Natural Challenges in 21st Century'

The Department of Physics and Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dr. Patangrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Sangli have organized guest lecture of Prof. Rajmal Jain, Space Scientist, on the topic “Cosmic and Natural Challenges in 21st Century” dated on 07th April 2022 at 02:30 to 04:30 pm in the main auditorium. Total 103 students and more than 20 faculty members were present for the guest lecture.

The Welcome and introduction of the guest was done by Dr. D. P. Nade. While introducing Prof. Rajmal Jain, he said that Prof. Rajmal Jain is very humble eminent scientist of Physics, he is great educationalist, administer and counsellor.

After brief introduction, Prof. Rajmal Jain was felicitated by Dr. Amit Supale by offering Bouquet and Book (Brief History of Time) as token of love. Prof. Rajmal Jain started with information of life on earth and its connection with Sun. He said that main source of energy is Sun and all the living organisms are sustaining on the earth due to the Sun.  He also explained how Sun’s activities have impact on natural disasters like flood, volcanic activities, sea surface temperature, atmospheric temperature, pressure etc. He has given demonstration on rotation of the Sun and creation of sun’s spots on the Sun.

Finally, Prof. Rajmal Jain suggested that, the strengthening of fundamental research will provide the solutions to the future problems. Many students have asked questions regarding Sun and its effect on our day-to-day life. The discussion session was very interactive and informative for the students. The students were very enthusiastically participated in this activity and they have really enjoyed the lecture delivered by Pro. Rajaml Jain.

He said the Department of Physics and Internal Quality Assurance Cell are grateful towards the management of Bharati Vidyapeeth and especially to Principal Dr. D. G. Kanase for providing support and guidance to organize this guest lecture on Cosmic and Natural Challenges in 21th Century. He also offer thank to Mr. T. R. Sawant, Dr. (Mrs.) P. M. Patil and technical supporter Mr. Jagtap. He specially thanks to all the faculty members and students for gracing the event.

MoU with Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur

Bharati Vidyapeeth's Dr. Patangrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Sangli and Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur signed MoU on 31st March 2022. This MoU is signed for scientific collaboration in the study of Space and Atmospheric Science. Both the parties mutually agreed to cooperate in research, project work, training , career guidance, study tour and consultancy. Prin. Dr. D. G. Kanase and Dr. Arun Patil (Vice-Chancellor, SGU) signed the document on behalf of College and University, respectively.
